What’s happening with Patty Robinson?
As many of you know, Patty Robinson, our Director of Family ministries had surgery on July 8th. Recovery has been slow and there have been a few bumps along the way (an infection landed Patty back in the hospital for her birthday on July 25th!) but all in all, Patty is doing well! So many friends from our church have offered meals and support we are overwhelmed with your kindness and love!

Thank you also to our family ministries team for carrying the load over the summer months. Special thanks to Raimee Gould and Carrie Elgazzar for taking on the bulk of children’s ministries. Thanks also to Raimee and Mike Basil for providing leadership for our fantastic summer interns. Michael Diehl had oversight for Wahoo Wednesdays and has now joined our family ministries team as our new Jr. High/College Director effective August 1st.

Patty will be back September 1st and will be in serious need of children’s ministry volunteers to help us beginning in the fall. If you would like to help in this way, please contact Raimee Gould at: raimee.gould@claytoncc.com Please pray for Shawn and the Robinson’s 3 great kids as they do their part at home! God is so good!!!

EARLY CHILDHOOD MINISTRY
By Raimee Gould

This has been an amazing summer, filled with fellowship and growth among the families of
CCC. Children’s ministry was blessed by some amazing interns who helped energize our
summer program and provide a well-deserved break for our school year volunteers. In
preschool, we’ve had Bailey West teaching at 9am & Kailey Stripling at 10:45. They have also
led our “Wahoo Wednesdays” at the church office these past 6 weeks, along with intern, Jessica
Leist, and many wonderful volunteers. Nicole Boutte is also doing a great job leading our
Toddler class each week. These ladies have such amazing gifts and have chosen to use them to
glorify God at CCC. The Lord had definitely been in charge this summer, and these interns
helped get His work done. We cannot thank them enough for their service and leadership!

Looking towards the fall season, I’m excited to see what God has next! Our Nursery keeps
growing, attendance is good and new guests continue to join our classrooms every week. These
are signs that our church is thriving and families are seeking the Lord – Praise God! The
Nursery will be starting a curriculum this September (called Baby Beginnings) to share the love
of Jesus with even our smallest children at CCC. Make sure to pick-up a “Parent’s Home Page”
to see what your child is learning. Our Toddler and Preschool classes will be hearing plenty of
Old Testament Bible stories this fall, including Noah’s Ark, Abraham’s legacy & Crossing the
Red Sea. Sunday school is fun, and it’s a great starting point for growing in Christ. Remember
to bring these experiences and conversations home to learn even more as a family.

The focus of the next few months is getting our church family connected – to God, to each other
and to our community. A word that keeps coming to mind in my prayers is “intentional”. Our
Sundays at church can be a weekly “God fix”… OR they can be a meaningful time of growth,
serving, meeting new faces and connecting within our church body. Weekdays can contain
merely work and errands… OR they can be filled with intentional conversations, helping others
and worshipping The Creator. We can’t fool ourselves into thinking God has put us here for
busy-ness! He wants to use each of us for His purposes and allow us to experience His
blessings.

Our children truly benefit when we make the effort to connect and be intentional. Suddenly…
diaper changes, park play dates and time-outs become wonderful opportunities to glorify God.
Allow your little ones to experience the Lord in this way. They watch what you do, how your
respond and may decide to do the same. Take the time to be with God, pray with your family
and meet new people. These are things that please the Lord, and -after all- that’s really why
we’re here I pray that this season is filled with many opportunities for you to “connect” and
that you are up to the challenge!

Grace & Truth,
Raimee Gould
