held at the Clayton Community Church Office

free of charge, donations accepted

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

*Multi-Generational, inter-active journey thru the Christmas Story

*Arrive between 2:20-3:30; allow 45 min-1 hour for your journey

*BRING your CAMERA and dress WARM!

* The last Welcome/Introduction is at 3:45

*Your journey will begin in the Community Room (left side of office)

The church parking lot and parking spots in front of the church office

will be in use; parking is available at the Children’s World lot,

or across the street/down the street

FUN FACTS:

*There will be live donkeys, sheep, and goats

*There will be a hayride for your “journey” to Bethlehem

*There will be a 1 ½ mo. old baby playing the part of baby Jesus

*There will be Hebrew dancing for those who wish to dance

*Children will be invited to help wisemen present gifts to Baby Jesus

BASIC SCHEDULE:

2:20 Guests start arriving/Doors open

2:30 1st Welcome/Introduction – (repeats every 15 minutes until 3:45)

2:40 JOURNEY STATIONS OPEN

(The Journey of Bethlehem has been designed to be experienced in the order provided; however, if there is a huge crowd that creates long lines and frustrating waits, we will disperse our guests to explore the stations in any order)

3:45 LAST CHANCE to attend the Welcome/Introduction

4:30 JOURNEY STATIONS CLOSE

5:00 & 7:00 Candle Light Services at Diablo View Middle School

STATIONS FOR our JOURNEY TO BETHLEHEM

WHERE TO GO,WHAT TO DO:

1. WELCOME and INTRODUCTION – Community Room

*grab a cookie to eat

*listen to Pastor Shawn’s welcome

*get map and instructions for your journey

2. NAZARETH – Parking Lot

*meet/pet a live donkey, pony and miniature horses

*walk around to view the scenes from Nazareth

*board the hayride truck bound for “Bethlehem”

3. ROMAN CENSUS – Outside Patio

*meet/greet Roman guards

*sign in on the Roman Census

4. BETHLEHEM – Youth Side of Office (enter from patio)

*join in the dancing throughout the streets of Bethlehem

*knock on doors at the inns to see if there’s any room!

*make an ornament to remember your journey

*visit our Bethlehem merchant tents:

Weaving Tent: practice your weaving skills

Carpenter Tent: pound with a hammer, and other wooden tools

Bakery Tent: Roll out dough and make “trail mix”

Gems and Jewelry Tent: dig for gems, and make pasta jewelry

5. FIELDS – tan bark to right of patio (enter from youth room)

*Meet shepherds, pet their sheep and goats

*Watch for the Angel of the Lord to appear!

6. STABLE – right side of patio…(enter from tan bark area)

*meet the 3 wisemen, Mary, Joseph and Baby Jesus

*help the wisemen present gifts to Baby Jesus
